Most internal PCIe cables fail in the field for boring reasons: they don't fit the chassis, or the signal falls apart before it reaches the drive. This assembly was built around two decisions that remove both issues before they start.
The straight (vertical) plug keeps the mated height low. In a 1U or 2U server, a right-angle boot can collide with a neighboring card or the chassis lid. A straight body lets the cable exit cleanly and frees the millimeters that often decide whether a build closes on the first try.
The 300 mm length is the sweet spot for routing a PCIe switch or NVMe backplane to a mid-chassis connector without excess slack that traps heat or snags a fan. Too short and you can't reach; too long and you're managing coil. 300 mm lands in the range our customers use most for single-server internal fan-out.
The pairs inside are differential twinax tuned to 85 ohm so the signal sees one continuous path from plug to plug. At PCIe 5.0 (32 GT/s) that tuning is what keeps insertion loss and crosstalk inside budget — fewer link-retrain events, no silent throughput drop when the workload gets heavy.
It carries PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 traffic without modification, so it drops into existing platforms during a phased upgrade. You don't requalify the whole rack to move one node to 5.0.
A straight plug seats with a positive latch and stays put through vibration and thermal cycling. Nobody wants a cable that walks out of the header during a thermal swing in the data center.

A 300 mm straight cable is the workhorse for connecting a PCIe switch to an EDSFF or U.2 backplane in the same chassis. The straight boot keeps the route flat against the tray, and the clean signal lets all eight lanes run at full rate to the drives.
In nodes where a GPU or FPGA hangs off a switch rather than a full-length slot, a short internal x8 link is often all you need. This cable delivers it without the cost and bulk of an x16 riser.
Mezzanine cards that expose an 8-lane edge benefit from a tidy internal route to the backplane. The low profile matters most here, where every millimeter above the card is contested.
Each cable is built and then checked for continuity, correct pin mapping, and insertion loss against the PCIe 5.0 loss budget. We don't ship a batch on a single golden-sample pass — the lot either meets the spec or it doesn't leave the floor. That's the gap between "it trained once in the lab" and "it trains every time in your customer's rack."

Stocking the common 300 mm straight build means small orders ship from existing reels instead of a full custom run. Volume pricing kicks in once your quantity clears the MOQ.
