CONSHARE built this vertical 56-position receptacle to disappear into your BOM: compact, predictable, and electrically clean enough for next-generation PCIe and memory-expansion links.
This is a board-to-board vertical receptacle built to SFF-TA-1002 Rev 1.2. The 1C form factor packs 56 contacts into a footprint barely wider than a postage stamp — practical when you need density without jumping to a mezzanine or cable assembly.
Engineers typically come here for one of three reasons:
They need a standardized, second-sourceable connector for a Gen-Z memory or accelerator module.
They are replacing an older connector family and want the same signal count in a smaller XY footprint.
They are laying out a backplane or mid-plane where vertical mating keeps stack height low and airflow clear.
At 0.60 mm pitch, the footprint is tight — but because the recommended land pattern follows the published SFF-TA-1002 1C pad layout, you can reuse proven routing strategies instead of starting from scratch. Two plated mounting holes anchor the housing mechanically, preventing the lifted-corner problem that sometimes appears after reflow.
High-speed designs punish lazy specs. Here the numbers are conservative on purpose — a connector with headroom gives you margin when temperature, vibration, and contamination hit.

Insertion force peaks at 30.8 N, while withdrawal holds above 2.8 N. That keeps the connector seated during angled module installation without demanding excessive assembly pressure. Rated durability is 200 cycles — enough for development, qualification, and field swaps over the product lifetime.
The housing is a black high-temperature thermoplastic rated UL 94V-0, so it survives lead-free reflow without deformation. Contacts and board locks are copper alloy — chosen for consistent spring force and solderability.
The Au30μ" gold-on-nickel contact finish is the safer choice when low, stable contact resistance matters more than the last fraction of a cent on the BOM. Solder tails are matte tin over nickel, which wets cleanly and avoids the brittle intermetallic growth that thicker pure-tin platings can cause. The part is RoHS compliant and halogen-free throughout.
A few decisions that trip up even experienced teams:
Board thickness compatibility. Tails are designed for 1.0–2.0 mm PCBs. Going thinner risks incomplete solder fillets; going thicker may leave insufficient pin protrusion for reliable inspection. If your stack-up calls for an outlier thickness, confirm tail length before locking the BOM.
Plating thickness and mating frequency. Au30μ" is the right call when the module side gets swapped more than a handful of times — the extra gold thickness protects the nickel barrier from fretting wear. Au15μ" is perfectly fine for connectors that get mated once at system integration and then sit undisturbed. The cost difference per connector is modest; the cost of a contact resistance drift in the field is not.
Tape orientation for placement. If your pick-and-place feeder expects tape pulling from a specific side, specify it at ordering. A reel that unwinds in the wrong direction means manual re-spooling or scrapped feeder setups — entirely avoidable.
Logo marking and traceability. The standard build ships without a housing logo. If your incoming inspection or line-side traceability requires visible marking, flag it early. Adding a logo after tooling is locked in costs time and money that a line item on the PO would have saved.

Carton: 6 reels per box, 1,800 pieces total. Cartons are sealed and padded; partial boxes get cushioning fill to prevent reel movement.
Lead time: Standard configurations are typically available from stock or short-cycle production. Staggered releases are supported so you avoid warehousing an entire quarter at once.
